Our One Hour Weight Loss Consultation Can Change Your Life

If you would like to lose weight, we invite you to schedule a one hour weight loss consultation. During this consultation, we’ll create a customized treatment plan that includes  an SECA scan and possibly labs. When we’re done you will have a clear understanding of your starting point, and an established weight loss plan with medication options, tailored to your goals.

What To Expect During Your First Appointment

During our initial weight loss appointment, we will discuss your goals. We may perform lab tests and a SECA scan to establish your starting point and health markers. From there we will create a weight loss plan that includes medication, tailored completely to your goals. This appointment typically takes around 60 minutes.

We then have monthly follow-up visits, where we evaluate your progress with a SECA scan and make medication adjustments if needed.

What is a SECA scan?

A SECA scan, or bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) using SECA technology, is a method used to assess body composition, including body fat percentage, muscle mass, and hydration levels. For weight loss purposes, it provides valuable insights beyond just scale weight, allowing individuals to track changes in their body composition over time as they focus on losing fat and gaining muscle. This can help guide diet and exercise plans more effectively.

Medical Weight Loss FAQ

Typically, individuals who are overweight or obese, have a BMI of 30 or higher, or face weight-related health issues may qualify. However, eligibility may vary based on the specific program and individual health conditions.

Weight loss rates can differ by individual and may depend on factors such as starting weight, adherence to the program, and metabolism; however, a safe and sustainable rate is typically about 2 pounds per week.

Several prescription medications are used in medical weight loss, including phentermine, orlistat, and liraglutide. Phentermine is an appetite suppressant, orlistat works by blocking fat absorption, and liraglutide is a GLP-1 receptor agonist that helps regulate appetite and caloric intake. These medications are effective at suppressing appetite, which leads to weight loss over time.

Many weight loss medications are approved by the FDA and have been shown to be safe and effective, but they should only be used under supervision to manage potential side effects and assess suitability.

The duration varies based on individual goals and progress; however, our weight loss program typically lasts several months, with regular check-ins to monitor weight loss and overall health, with potential for follow-up care to maintain results.
